accordance with the requirements for vehicle-road collaboration pilot project of the Ministry of Transport and the specific

demands of the Beijing Winter Olympics we conducted a thorough analysis of the complex terrain dense network

of bridges and tunnels elevation changes and unusual climate changes along the Hebei section of Yanqing-Chongli

Expressway. By using cutting-edge technologies such as radar sensing and 3D measurable real-world imagery we

achieved precise sensing and collection of traffic data along the Hebei section of Yanqing-Chongli Expressway as well as

full-track target tracking and positioning. In addition we applied technologies such as vehicle-road information exchange

risk monitoring and early warning as well as traffic flow monitoring and analysis providing real-time accurate road and

traffic information to passing vehicles.On certain sections of the tunnel based on the existing sensing equipment we further collected various types of sensory

data inside the tunnel including gas concentrations light conditions weather conditions road surface status smoke

flames and real-time traffic flow. After processing and analyzing the data on the vehicle-road collaboration platform we

sent warning messages to connected vehicles via RSUs thereby effectively validating the application of vehicle-road

collaboration in highway tunnel scenarios. In the future this section will support Level 4 autonomous driving at a speed of

up to 80 km/h as well as vehicle-road collaboration testing based on the cellular network technology. It will also carry out

demonstrations of autonomous vehicle platooning providing a smarter and more reliable environment for long-distance
